According to Wikipedia, Gaia theory states "that the entire Earth is a single unified organism; in this view the Earth's biosphere is consciously manipulating the climate in order to make conditions more conducive to life."

As many of you have noticed, I got the idea from Final Fantasy: the Spirit Within (which IMO was really good movie).

Interestingly (and again), I was almost done and was about to reduce the size to save it as JPEG, I pressed some weird button and photoshop exited without even asking me to save it and I lost almost 1/3rd of the file! Funny how same thing happened while I was working on "Eclipse". So I basically had to redo the entire starfield and not surprisingly I could not get the same effect as before! (Maybe the computer was consciously shuting down PS for some reason like the theory ^^)

This took me 2 Fridays and 3 Saturdays to finish because I couldn't work on it during the weekdays...

Time: 20++ hours over 5 days
Layers: 78
File size: 700mb (I have no idea why the file is so huge!)

Sad to hear that you lost 1/3 of the file... =3 It's still awesome in so many ways.

Outstanding work.

I like the movie as well, and I think there's more to the Gaia theory than some writer's imagination. There are parallels in a lot of religions, including Wicca, where people believe (as I understand it) that the planet itself has a soul, and a conciousness. They call this Entity "Mother Nature".

Worth thinking about. But don't spend too much time on it, or life will pass you by and leave you in the twilight darkness of your fading years.......

Very good, i like it alot i may try to do a simular one :) when i can be bothered and have some time. The star field cauld do some intensity differences, but overall its good. Feel lucky as you have my 21st :+fav: :D

The original resolution was 2000 x 4500 and the one posted is half the size... When i reduced the size all the small stars dissappeared!

Man this thing blows! Jkz. It looks pretty cool ,better than anything i could pull off. Whacky grammar in your first post fonky. Odd name too, but im supposed to critique this pic so I am. I am a bit confused at waht is happening at the top of the pic, but now knowing makes it even cooler. Could have added more stars but is till superb. Overal a 9.6/10. GJ ^_^
